30th Anniversary: Hardee’s Ghostbusters II Banner

This past weekend a ghosthead I know of in England was showing off his latest Ghostbusters collectible, Kenner’s Ecto-Plazm. While talking about it, someone thought it was a “tub” of ice cream. I didn’t make the immediate Ghostbusters related connection. It wasn’t long before I was remembering that in a way there was a time people could buy ‘Slimer Sundaes’ from American fast food chain, Hardee’s.

Before everyone knew Ghostbusters II wasn’t going to be as good as Ghostbusters (“Oh, that’s harsh Rich.” – Everyone born between 1984 to 1989) Columbia Pictures, Coca~Cola, and Hardee’s put major bank into cross promotional tie ins. This isn’t a slight against Hardee’s as the restaurant chain wasn’t and isn’t close to where I live. If I’ve ever eaten at one, its been about 17 years. I have no idea why the Coca~Cola/Columbia Pictures consortium chose Hardee’s over perhaps fast…

Ghostbusters Lego Firehouse Cuusoo

When Sergio Herencias created a custom Ghostbusters Firehouse, ghostheads didn’t entirely know he would submit it to Lego Cuusoo for support to eventually be seen and evaluated by Lego themselves. In a pretty similar fashion, its how the 30th Anniversary Ghostbusters Lego ECTO-1 set was approved and to be produced this year.

I present you, my Lego Ghostbusters HQ Custom MOC built.

Thanks to Brent, Lego brings the GB Ecto-1 Set. I thought to myself- why not built the appropriate HQ.

I decided to built a hybrid between GB1 & GB2 and add more extras and details, lights, sound and other stuff.

The Floors(levels) are removable. Therefore, you had many freedoms for the interior and everything is easily accessible. I have already started the design concepts of various accessories and furniture.

Total production time: approx. 20H

height: 38cm – length: 33,6cm – width: 17,5cm

If you’d like to support Sergio’s project, vote. Once it receives 10,000 votes, Lego will seriously consider the project. Realistically that may depend on how their ECTO-1 set, complete with Ghostbusters mini figures and proton packs sell.
