This past February I posted about Mattel/Hot Wheel’s 30th Anniversary ECTO-1 with figures. Which was barely close up and the item was in a case. Now Mattel has released some detailed pictures of what 1:18 ECTO-1 and especially these Ghostbusters figures will look like.
If Matty Collector, Mattel’s adult collector brand had never made more detailed 6 and 12 inch Ghostbusters figures within the last 5 years, these are passable for possibly static figures that are meant for display purposes. If these are the final production figures and they’re being compared to the stand alone figures, its easy to nitpick. Does anyone else feel like these could be knock offs of the $22/25 USD figures?

Just something I had to do for Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary. This is also the first time I’ve bought Hostess Twinkies since the brand relaunched.

To the general surprise of ghostheads IDW Publishing kinda casually announced the monthly ongoing Ghostbusters comic will be ending this September with Issue 20. Although it is the final comic in the series, it doesn’t mean during Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary at least the characters couldn’t appear in a multi part story.

To celebrate Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary, XMG Studios is offering Ghostbusters Paranormal Blast for FREE. If you somehow missed out, what do you have to lose, phone space? That alone is cool, how many game developers would go the extra mile and suit up for a trailer that’s going to end up on YouTube?

Footage has surfaced from 30 years ago (a little weird they happened to be filming) which shows how our business partner, the Stay-Puft Corporation reacted to their beloved mascot trying to destroy New York City and how they dealt with A LOT of melted marshmallow in the city.
So glad they didn’t mention us. What wasn’t documented at this point is that Ghostbusters Incorporated came to terms with the Stay-Puft Corporation. Within a couple of years, Ghostbusters as a brand and more helped both companies become well respected and lucrative brands the public and shareholders could put their trust and money into.
At least we weren’t part of the third reconciliation of those Meketrex supplicants.

This isn’t anything we didn’t already know because we’re the pioneers (and still the leaders) in the definite science of the next decade. Film School Rejects lists 5 reasons why Ghostbusters remains relevant 30 years later.

If we had known Dr. Stantz was going to think of something harmless that would never hurt them and then that thought was going to manifest into a 100 foot marshmallow man that was going to cause physical damage to New York City; we would have liked to know what this damage was going to be.
Thirty years later, millions of dollars, and lawsuits makes this kinda late. However, should a product mascot and logo materialize into a very large manifestation to stomp through NYC, thanks to Cube Cities, we’ll all have a much better idea of the damage it can cause to infrastructure and our massively deep wallets.

The excitement with Ghostbusters 30th anniversary continues with Sony/Pictures Home Entertainment offering ghostheads to “stay up-to-date” with Ghostbusters news. If fans aren’t already “following” Sony’s Ghostbusters social media accounts and perhaps are more casual about Ghostbusters news, e-Mail updates may be more for them. If whomever is releasing the news is timely, it would be straight from the source. I wouldn’t have to be the last to know, well except for Louis around here.
When someone asks if you want to stay up-to-date on all the latest Ghostbusters news, you say ‘YES’! Sign up now to get your Ghostbusters updates via email (because print is dead!): http://sonypictur.es/cckFVe.
