Last year when ghostheads were talking about classic Ghostbusters gaming Troy Benjamin (Ghostbusters HQ) brought up Ghostbusters advertising from the era. I had certainly never seen it, as I was once a kid and we didn’t own a computer, (seems unimaginable) I didn’t remember this unique, now part of Ghostbusters history.
This 1984 Ghostbusters advertisement comes from a 1984 Activision brochure. Part of the overall theme where a man is dreaming, experiencing Activision games. Other software included Pitfall II, Pastfinder, H.E.R.O, Toy Bizarre, The Designer Pencil, and Space Shuttle.
Troy scanned the original 4 page brochure, which I received from Paul. I’ve made PDF files from them and added a single PDF file to the main Commodore 64 page.
In 1985 Activision created a mini catalog (about the size of a diskette) advertising their software. Page 2 had information on Ghostbusters, which was “now available for C64, Atari, and Apple II.” Ghostbusters hadn’t been released for IBM PC jr. yet.
Troy scanned the original 3 page catalog, which I also received from Paul. I’ve made PDF files from them and added a single PDF file to the main Commodore 64 page.
