The Ecto-Containment Unit or The Protection Grid is the final destination for captured spiritual entities. Once the trap is inserted into the trap slot and a Ghostbuster finishes operating the ECU, the ghost(s) are released into a spirit world.
The original ECU which has had gradual updates over the years is still offered due to spacing issues and if employees want to research, study, and observe ghosts living in there natural environment.
Ecto-Containment Unit parts can be purchased (subject to availability) through Ghostbusters International or an authorized parts franchise.
