In April we wrote about building a Ghostbusters bear. (GBI Blog Post, April 28, 2016) On Ghostbusters Day Nerdist had the exclusive (this is what can happen while interns get some mandatory training) with Build-A-Bear Ghostbusters product photos and additional information. While interns are training and probably rushing to get to work, we take a closer look.
If you know me or even visited my personal blog, iRich you know I own at least one Curious George plush. Thanks to the Reys, my mom, a Jersey shore boardwalk, childhood, and probably Gund I’ve owned a handful of Curious George plushes. My original Curious George (since I had from 9 months old) stitching could no longer hold. I’ve probably been traumatized since 1985. The one pictured over at iRich became a replacement about the same time.
What does the Curious One and this Build-A-Bear story have do with one another? If you’re familiar with Build-A-Bear, you already know besides “outfits” for plushes with hearts, at Halloween adults and kids can buy costumes for their personal bears.
In the past as I would see military “flight suits” at there stores I thought if they sold a khaki flight suit (without patches) I could make a Ghostbusters uniform for Curious George. At some point the idea drifted into imagination.

Although, most if not all of Underground Toys Ghostbusters merchandise has been available (we’re still looking for some of these products ourselves) for a good while, UT was at this years New York Toy Fair displaying their Ghostbusters goodness.

PopCultcha‘s upcoming Stay-Puft plush is 8.5″ tall and apparently cuddly. 🙂 We don’t know yet if this Stay-Puft plush will be available outside of Australia. Why would we check?

At San Diego Comic Con Underground Toys showed off their new Domo Ghostbusters inspired products, which include a Domo Stay-Puft and Domo “no ghost” logo plushies. Also on display were 4 new Ghostbusters plushes. Previous Slimer, Stay-Puft, and “no ghost” logo plushes were also shown along with Ghostbusters key chains.

Underground Toys showed off new and current Ghostbusters merchandise at New York Toy Fair. Underground Toys had previously released Stay-Puft and Slimer plushes in various sizes that play music from Ghostbusters and coffee/tea mugs. Including a “no ghost” logo mug that fades in the ghost when the mug is hot.
New for this year are are “no ghost” logo plushes in varying sizes. If any Underground Toys Ghostbusters plush should play “Ghostbusters,” this would be the one. I only own one “happy face” version of their Stay-Puft. As an adult in my 30s if I didn’t own it, I’d be ok with that. A medium size “no ghost” logo? Its different and feels unique enough as a life long ghosthead and collector.
