Last October Funko and Big Ten Entertainment introduced us to Pop! Movies Domo Ghostbusters. While photos of the three products with box art have been available, most fans didn’t see the actual Domo Ghostbusters until New York Toy Fair.
Thanks to Awesome Toy Blog, we get to see “…the real thing.” Continue reading “New York Toy Fair: Funko Domo Pop Movies! Ghostbusters”
Back in May we posted about Ghostbusters Incorporated, Sony, Funko, and Big Ten Entertainment partnering together to bring ghostheads and Domo fans Funko Movie Pops! Ghostbusters Domo figures! 5 months later we’re getting our first look at them.
We don’t know yet if their will be more Ghostbusters Domo Pops. The three that are being released are a good start and a nice expansion for the respective franchises. Continue reading “Funko Pop Movies Ghostbusters Domo Style”
The week of October 9, 2014 the Javits Center is hosting New York Comic Con. Per usual there will be con exclusives. One of them from Funko is a variant of their Egon Spengler Movie Pop! and ECTO-1 Pop! that comes with Winston Zeddemore. As can be seen the NYCC Ghostbusters Pop! has Pop! Egon and Pop! ECTO-1 slimed in places. The artwork also appears different from the standard ECTO-1/Winston Pop!
What seems unusual is that unless we’re talking about Ghostbusters II,™ the character of Egon Spengler isn’t normally the one who gets slimed. Peter and Ray, for sure. This “combo” Pop! surely is unique. It’s possible Funko in a way wanted to honor Harold Ramis, who of course perfectly played Dr. Egon Spengler in both Ghostbusters™ and Ghostbusters II.™ Either that or someone at Funko wanted to do something different.
After all Funko had already done the SDCC slimed Pop! Peter Venkman with Pop! Slimer. Along with the SDCC “marshmallow covered” Pop! Ghostbusters. If the Pop! ECTO-1 was always going to be part of the NYCC exclusives, I would have done a marshmallow (different white or use a slightly dark outline) covered ECTO-1 and include a marshmallow covered Pop! Ray Stantz.
What do you think of Funko’s decision for a slimed Egon and Ecto-1?

Funko has released their San Diego Comic Con Ghostbusters vinyl Pop figure exclusives!

When I could be working on these web sites, I’m checking a popular auction site for Ghostbusters instead. At times its the same new and old collectibles. Their will be times one can come across a custom item. Such was the case when I saw a slimed version of a Funko Pop Vinyl Peter Venkman.
It wasn’t because I was on this auction site I didn’t post about it sooner. As this auction had ended and I didn’t see this posted on Ghostbusters sites, I wanted to show this artists work.
“Urban vinyl toy store” Fugitive Toys has revealed their presumably San Diego Comic Con exclusive Funko Pop Stay-Puft exclusive. He’s been a sailor, happy, a little roasted, and now they made him angry. You wouldn’t like when Mr. Stay-Puft is angry!!
Fugitive Toys are also giving at least one away through their Instagram.
Hopefully these will also be available after SDCC, even in limited quantities.

Funko and mall retailer Hot Topic are offering an exclusive variant of Mr. Stay-Puft which shows the marshmallowy one irate after getting “roasted” from these guys.
I personally prefer this “burnt” version to Diamond Select Toys different, yet same kind of themed Mr. Stay-Puft.
