SDCC: Ghostbusters Q-Pop Figures

gbqmxfigs

In February QMX announced Ghostbusters Q-Pop figures. For New York Toy Fair physical figures weren’t yet available, only 3D artwork. At San Diego Comic Con QMX had all 4 Q-Pop Ghostbusters on display. I didn’t really know what to make of these figures then. They still kinda look kid versions of the Ghostbusters or what they could look if their was a new animated series.

I’ve still never seen a Q-Pop figure in person, for Ghostbusters these seem to just about perfectly capture what Ghostbusters is and the personalities of each character. QMX even made Slimer, without really having to make him. I just noticed a tiny Stay-Puft marshmallow man with Ray, making these a little more perfect.

We don’t know yet how they’ll be packaged, pricing, or release dates. Hopefully if they do well, QMX will make more figures. Janine from Ghostbusters anyone?

SDCC: Matty Collector 30th Anniversary Ghostbusters Sets

gbmatty30thsets

During 2014 Matty Collector, a Mattel collector brand had been relatively quiet when it came to Ghostbusters. Matty Collector had been teasing San Diego Comic Con products, nothing Ghostbusters related. I had even asked about something fans knew was coming.

At this year’s SDCC, Matty Collector finally revealed what is most likely the final products for Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary 6″ figures 2 packs. Each set comes with two 6″ Ghostbusters figures. What makes these sets different, besides getting 2 figures per set is the figures have removable Proton Packs and glow-in-the-dark “no ghost” logo figure stands.

The 30th Anniversary Ghostbusters figure sets will be available from Matty Collector this September. Probably around the middle of the month at $50 USD per set.

“Urban vinyl toy store” Fugitive Toys has revealed their presumably San Diego Comic Con exclusive Funko Pop Stay-Puft exclusive. He’s been a sailor, happy, a little roasted, and now they made him angry. You wouldn’t like when Mr. Stay-Puft is angry!!

Fugitive Toys are also giving at least one away through their Instagram.

Hopefully these will also be available after SDCC, even in limited quantities.
