On September 15, 2014 we posted about a new GHOSTBUSTERS phone number Sony and Ghostbusters Incorporated set up at our original headquarters. Most clients and ghostheads have already heard Janine’s prerecorded message. Hearing a message is so 30 years ago.
As we knew the recording is important and we like to do this kind of thing, we paid someone at least 5 bucks to hold a camera and press record.
The new 30th Anniversary Ghostbusters digi-book well looks like a book, contains what and how Ghostbusters and its sequel came together, inserts, Ghostbusters™ 30th Anniversary Blu-ray, and for the first time in any century Ghostbusters II™ 25th Anniversary Blu-ray.
Ghost hand returns?
As their has never been a follow up book to Making Ghostbusters I can appreciate “The Story of Ghostbusters II” for the 25th Anniversary. With concept art, ghost model building, and pictures from Ghostbusters II™. Which weren’t all in the theatrical version.
This is the first and most likely the only time Ghostbusters II™ will see the Blu-ray of light. Where then is the respect? Why did someone in authority approve a sideways cut off from the disc Ghostbusters II “victory/peace” sequel logo? You could say the logo is correct when one turns the disc with the title facing to the right. If you’re anything like me, you place your discs in a player with the logo facing upwards depending on the placement of art and/or title.
Ghosthead websites and movies sites began reviewing the 30th Anniversary Ghostbusters Blu-rays within days of the release. At Ghostbusters Incorporated we’re far more busier. Ya know making sure the world is safe from disruptive ghosts and on the rare occasion those creatures that want to end all life as we know it for their own selfish agenda.
Some of us didn’t have the time we would have liked to have watched, let alone review new Ghostbusters Blu-rays. Then before we knew it, GB Inc. seemed to have become a food site because of our partnerships with Krispy Kreme and the Stay-Puft Corp. Before we really get into the busy season GB Inc. asked me to watch movies (at least they weren’t workplace safety videos this time) and review them.
When ghostheads bought a copy of the Ghostbusters™ 30th Anniversary Blu-ray, included were savings for restaurant chains Ryan’s®, Hometown® Buffet, and Old Country Buffet®. What we didn’t really then is that every Thursday during October from 5-8 PM is October Family Night.
Excerpt from their press release:
Ryan’s®, HomeTown® Buffet, and Old Country Buffet® are adding some spooky fun to Family Night by partnering with Ghostbusters. All 324 restaurants will feature Ghostbusters-themed activities every Thursday night in October. The restaurants are also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the cult film classics, Ghostbusters I and II, which were released on Blu-ray as special anniversary editions and feature a $3-off dinner coupon good at any of the family-style restaurants. Our friends at Krispy Kreme have set up a Krispy Kreme Ghostbusters™ promotional site known as Krispy Skremes. We love that name and maybe wish we had come up with it in a meeting…first. Ok, we didn’t, with a little more time we might have.
Krispy Skremes is a location based site to locate your nearest Krispy Kreme. Using your “P.K.E Meter” and Google maps (Ghostbusters HQ) you can scan for escaped ghosts! Why did the ghosts escape? They’re after Krispy Kreme donuts of course!
David Chase from Beyond The Marquee visited a local Krispy Kreme to experience and try Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary donuts. As he was “taste testing” the official donuts anyhow, David Chase wrote a review.
The remaining Terror Dog head used during the filming of Ghostbusters has been restored. Restoration was done by its owner Tom Spina Designs. For additional photos of this Terror Dog and their other incredible work, check out their site and/or Facebook page.
If two kinds of official Krispy Kreme Ghostbusters donuts isn’t enough. Or you’d like something a little different in between, Rosanna Pansino of Nerdy Nummies has the solution; Ghostbusters cupcakes!
Today I made Ghostbusters Ectoplasm Filled Cupcakes with my friend Jake! I really enjoy making nerdy themed goodies and decorating them. I’m not a pro, but I love baking as a hobby. Please let me know what kind of treat you would like me to make next.
This morning Robin Shelby was at Krispy Kreme’s Burbank, CA location to hang out with California franchise members and together enjoy hopefully delicious 30th Anniversary donuts. Robin Shelby shared her album of pictures and after asking is allowing Ghostbusters Incorporated to share them. A special thanks to Robin Shelby and her husband Sean Spence.
