Los Angeles Times On Ghostbusters Still Saving The World At 30

The Los Angeles Times wrote about Ghostbusters,™ speaking with Ivan Reitman and Ernie Hudson as Ghostbusters celebrates its 30th Anniversary.

Excerpt from Ivan Reitman:

There was very little expectation of the movie by all prognosticators, there were prognosticators in 1984, even though there are far less than there are now,” he said, laughing. “It was one of those movies that was pretty low on the focus list.”

Excerpt from Ernie Hudson:

I was doing a play on Broadway six or seven years ago, and guys would put on their Ghostbusters suits with their backpacks and traipse across New York and wait outside the stage. I was in the South of France, and there were Ghostbusters chapters all through France and Italy.

Chapters? Are we not a global corporation? 😉

Annie Potts Imagines Janine’s Future

janinefirehousegb30

Vanity Fair spoke with Annie Potts who portrayed then receptionist Janine Melnitz in Ghostbusters™ and Ghostbusters II™. Annie Potts was asked where she saw the future of the character.

Interesting since Janine Melnitz is one of the most important people in Ghostbusters Incorporated history. I totally get that Annie Potts wouldn’t publicly give out details about Janine Melnitz’s life.

New York Post Remembers When Ernie Hudson Filmed Ghostbusters

We’ll forgive hometown newspaper New York Post for using a pic of Ernie Hudson from Ghostbusters II™ when talking about filming Ghostbusters.™ In honor of Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary and subsequent ongoing screenings this week The Post spoke to Ernie Hudson, who of course portrayed Winston Zeddemore about filming Ghostbusters in Gotham. Um, we’re pretty sure that’s a different city, one with a little more crime.

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Number 13 Opening Weekend

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary has been showing on 787 screens, in some theaters since Thursday, August 28, 2014. Some at Ghostbusters Incorporated hadn’t really considered making the top 10 thirty years later. After all some marvelous guardian movie is still playing along with a movie about mutant turtles who become ninjas. You believe that? That’ll will never last as long as GHØSTBUSTERS.

We’re happy, not surprised that Ghostbusters 30 comes in at lucky number 13 above an animated movie about training dragons for a second time. Ghostbusters has been a money making machine since June 1984. It’s always nice to see both companies have more financial resources. Someone with a much higher pay grade is enjoying half a million dollars. With more in profits to come.
