Activision Launching Ghostbusters Video Games

actgbsvideogamescap

With the release of Ghostbusters (2016) Activision will be launching not one, but two different Ghostbusters video games! Or adventures.

Scott Lowe, Activision’s Communications Manager wrote on the company’s blog:

This July, Ghostbusters returns to screens both big and small. That’s right, in addition to the new film from Sony Pictures, this July we’re introducing two all-new Ghostbusters adventures for consoles and mobile devices.—Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters: Slime City, respectively. Both games will feature new casts of rookies as they fight rogue sprits while the now-famous Ghostbusters are off stopping high-profile poltergeists.

On PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, there’s Ghostbusters, a third-person action role-playing game with up to four-player local co-op. Each player can level up their character’s gear and abilities by battling ghosts, completing objectives, or discovering hidden collectibles. Players will have four heroes to choose from, each with their own unique personality and play style that benefit the overall team.

Ghost Corps Displays New Ghostbusters Figures

ghostcorpsgbs16matteldisplay.jpg

Ghost Corps via their Facebook page added the above photo showing both upcoming Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters (2016) figures, vehicles, and play sets. We believe most, if not all the figures, etc are from Mattel. The Ghostbusters (2016) figures were shown at this year’s New York Toy Fair.

We’ve updated our display cases with new merchandise! Check out Ivan on the official GhostbustersSnapchat right now for a more in depth look! #Ghostbusters

What’s really new is the bottom of the display. It appears Mattel is re-releasing their former Matty Collector Ghostbusters figures in all new “classic” packaging. Except for a certain marshmallow ghost. Which basically hasn’t been packaged that way since Kenner produced and sold a The Real Ghostbusters version 30 years ago.

According to Ghost Corps the classic figures come with parts to build a “no ghost” logo.

Sony Invents Ghost Catching Technology

insidesonyprotonpack

Or so they claim. News off the Japanese servers reports Sony developed “the worlds first Proton Pack.”

That’s a bold claim considering my employers Drs. Stantz, Spengler, and I guess to some extent Venkman invented the world’s first Proton Pack (along with other ghost technology) more then 30 years ago.

Also how did a fictional scientist work with a real one to create a 2016 Proton Pack? 😉 Continue reading “Sony Invents Ghost Catching Technology”
