New Ghostbusters New Yorker’s Daily Cartoon
A drawing of the New Ghostbusters cast is part of the New Yorker‘s daily cartoon. I guess the envelopes are pay checks or maybe instructions to their Sony employers on how to make a good Ghostbusters film. 😀 Stay-Puft looks in shape, ready to travel to Hollywood. :p

Hollywood Reporter Interviews Dan Aykroyd On Female Ghostbusters Cast
In an interview with Dan Aykroyd, Hollywood Reporter asked the Ghostbusters originator his thoughts on the new Ghostbusters female cast.

The Aykroyd family is delighted by this inheritance of the Ghostbusters torch by these most magnificent women in comedy.
My great grandfather, Dr. Sam Aykroyd, the original Ghostbuster, was a man who empowered women in his day and this is a beautiful development in the legacy of our family business.

Sony Announces New Ghostbusters Release
Sony’s Ghostbusters Facebook page posted tonight:
The next #Ghostbusters is officially hitting theaters July 2016. Who’s ready to believe us?!
New Ghostbusters may face box off competitors with these July 2016 releases:
- Star Trek 3 (July 8)
- The Bourne Legacy 2 (July 15)
- Power Rangers (July 22)
Time and box office receipts will tell.

The New Ghostbusters Cast
Director Paul Feig (Twitter) showed a pic of the 4 actresses that presumably are set to star in ‘Ghostbusters.’ Or what I’ve also called it, New Ghostbusters.
The actresses playing new Ghostbusters:
- Melissa McCarthy
- Kristen Wiig
- Leslie Jones
- Kate McKinnon
I’m slightly familiar with some of Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig work. I’ve never seen Leslie Jones or Kate McKinnon from Saturday Night Live or anything else as I haven’t been an avid viewer of SNL in years. Probably about the time Ghostbusters 3 could have been out. :O Since this news broke and Ghostbusters is trending I’ve read some articles to attempt to get familiar with their “comedy backgrounds.”

New Tobin’s Spirit Guide In Italian
Italian ghosthead Joe Nonostante spent a year (what were you doing?) by not only translating Tobin’s Spirit Guide to Italian, (that has to be easy right?) adding pretty much every ghost from The Real Ghostbusters, Extreme Ghostbusters, with additional entries from Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Making this the largest and most complete Tobin’s Spirit Guide to date at 496 pages.

Mad Movie Classic Features Ghostbusters Spoofs
MAD has released a collector’s edition with reprints of 21 movie spoofs. Two of the spoofs are based off Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II. Whether its because Ghostbusters turned 30 last year or it’s dear to MAD (imagine that) Ghostbusters owns the cover art.

William Forsche, a special effects artist who worked on Ghostbusters II and has shared personal videos from working on Ghostbusters II previously is now sharing rare deleted footage to his Facebook page. Ghostbusters On Display In Indianapolis
The Indianapolis Children’s Museum is preparing to display a screen used (hero) Ghostbusters Proton Pack worn by Bill Murray. Along with a Ghostbusters II screen used Belt Gizmo. We’re not sure if it was worn by Bill Murray. Why would the Indianapolis Children’s Museum display Ghostbusters and more? Its part of there “You’re on the Set!” exhibit.
